Born in a hospital room.
Iapyx Labs was born while our founder watched his father succumb to aggressive pancreatic cancer. In the grip of pre-emptive mourning, he realized that there is only one thing in this world that truly matters.
Family.

Right now, that means research — tracking and understanding the full landscape of advanced robotics and human movement, from humanoid robots to exoskeletons to the shared technology underneath both. That knowledge serves the field, and it serves our own path forward.

A powered exoskeleton built to restore mobility — for people like our founder's father, who never got to move through the world the way he once could, and our founder himself, whose own injuries ended a career built on movement.
Founder
A lifetime studying how humans move.
Our founder has spent his entire life studying human movement — first as a Virginia State Champion gymnast, then across nearly every sport he could find (football, soccer, basketball, skateboarding, snowboarding, skiing, surfing, mountain biking, tennis, pickleball, ping pong, calisthenics, and weightlifting). Along the way: 10 broken bones, 19 shoulder dislocations, and a torn labrum that required surgery and ultimately ended his gymnastics career. He went on to coach more than 150 students to master their own bodies, then became a bioengineer, aerospace engineer, and robotics founder.
At 27, he has helped build three companies from zero and reached millions teaching movement online. Every path pointed at the same problem: building machines that truly understand how humans move, and continuously get better.
